I always thought it was unfortunate how in music, the "greats" seem almost arbitrary. I know a dozen internet drone musicians / sound artists that can easily surpass the likes of Steve Roden, Richard Chartier, Basinski, etc. No slander whatsoever directed to them, but sputnik's music always has me thinking about just how wide this artistic world is and how much brilliance dwells in shadows overflowing with light.
